The Coastal Oasis Initiative is a high-impact eco-restoration and circular economy programme focused on rehabilitating the degraded Sungai Klang river system and adjacent coastal isles, spanning over 27,000 hectares of riparian and mangrove ecosystems. The initiative integrates biodiversity restoration with waste recovery innovation, converting organic waste into biochar, carbon credits, and regenerative materials, while transforming collected plastics into fuel, energy feedstock, or recyclable products. Supporting NETR and Malaysia’s climate finance agenda, the project offers a scalable model for ecological regeneration and sustainable economic growth.
